Gooooooo Eucalyptus

I love blogging, but I have the hardest time coming up with names for my posts, so you're just going to have to deal with this one having a lame title.

As you guys know, I was in a crazy frenzy trying to find photos to bring to my florist. The meeting went great and Sandy the florist knew everything I wanted. . . but more on that later!

I have to dedicate this whole post to one thing.

Right now, I just have to tell you all about seeded eucalyptus! When I was at the floral market with Sandy, we spent quite a lot of time looking at different flowers and green stuff to put in bouquet. I also saw the coolest looking greenery, that would fit in perfect with the more 'wild' look I want in my bouquet.

See! You love the look, don't you? I know I do. It's such a cool textural look and I can just picture it in a bouquet, or maybe tucked into the side of Mr. G's bout. Maybe something like this?

According to Sandy, it's available all year round too! Whoo! I didn't bother asking if there was a difference between 'regular' eucalyptus or seeded eucalyptus. Anybody know?

Anybody else use eucalyptus in their bouquet? Want to share photos ;-) ?

Outta my way! It's time for flowers!

Hive,
I don't have much time to talk. Why? Well because I'm meeting with our florist, Sandy tomorrow morning! Tomorrow morning, you say?! That's not very far away, you say?! No, no it isn't. Freak out!

Sandy asked me to bring her inspiration photos for my bouquet and the BM bouquets. . . oh and perhaps the centerpieces too . . . so I was all, "yeah, sure, no problem." And have I gotten pictures together? Of course not.

What do I want in a bouquet? That's a hard question to answer because, honestly, I'm almost too excited at the idea of my bouquet that I can barely decide. I have all kinds of bouquet dreams swimming in my head. I love flowers, I mean love love love flowers so how could anybody expect me to narrow down my love into one perfectly shaped and sized bouquet. But, what I told Sandy, although I'm pretty sure I didn't sound too confident, is a white and green bouquet. There should be white flowers, lots of greenery, and plenty of texture. Oh, and no roses. Word. Wait, and no Calas. Well, maybe calas. Wait, again! Maybe add some blue hydrangeas too. There's not a whole lot of blue flowers, which kind of messes with our color scheme, but I looove hydrangeas!

I'm not sure that makes sense, and that's why photos are needed so get outta my way, I have inspiration to collect. I'm going to share like a billion images so get ready for a photo heavy post!

The next few come from Sprout. If you're looking for inspiration, they have a lot of cool stuff over there! I'm so excited I found this blog (via Google search - yeaaaah) because these are exactly want I want (. . . I think). Green, white, maybe a little blue? Check! Texture all over the place? Check. Oh, and my favorite thing ever, exposed stems? Double check!


This next one is amazing, I mean, its too much yellow for me, but I love it. How much do I love it? I kinda just want to bury my face it in. Whoops - was that too personal? Visit the Steven Bruce Design Blog to see more. His stuff is off the wall and just gorgeous.

Okay, I know what you all are thinking, only one BM bouquet in that whole lot? What a selfish Giraffe! Yeah, you guys might be right ;-). No, but really, I'm kind of hoping that the bridemaids will have smaller versions of my bouquet.

Okay, so I realize I have like a bazillion photos. Is a bazillion too many? How about a bazillion minus one?

What did you tell your florist you wanted your bouquet to look like? And, more importantly so I don't look like a doof, how many photos did you bring with you?

Butterflying Down the Aisle

I saw this photo online here (who said it came from Martha, of course). But I was pretty intrigued. It's not often that brides stray away from the traditional flower bouquet, but if a bride is courageous enough to do so, this little gem could definitely take your breath away and make for great great photos.

Artichoke Love!

Whew! I'm back. I've been out of ton visiting with my grandpa and have had a lot of fun. Of course, being in a little Southern town can be very frustrating seeing as internet/wi-fi is not existent in his little town!

Anyway, I figured I'd give you all something to drool at (found here via projectwedding).

All I have to say is WOW! You know, I love to look at bouquets, and I find myself particularly drawn to ones with a textured look. Sure, a bunch of roses are great, but give me something a little different and I'm happy. I love when bouquets have berries, fruit, twigs, or anything a little unique to build that texture.

So speaking of unique - here's a bouquet with artichokes! It's amazing, it's different, it's fantastic! Enjoy! (I know right - Artichokes! It's so cool.) I would love to know what that leafy green stuff is, to the left of the artichoke. Anybody know?

Bouquet? Shmoquet!

So I was catching up on Offbeat Bride and it showcased a couple who did their entire wedding in a blue and black theme. The bride pulled a SJP and even chose a black dress, but it did have a blue sash and actually looks stunning.

One of the most impressive things was what the bride chose to carry as a bouquet. Using tinsel and blue ornaments, she created her own bouquet that, according to Offbeat Bride, actually lit up. It kind of made me swoon.
