I found out about Chocmocakes cakes from the cake wrecks blog (not for a wreck though, it was shown as a good cake).
Either way, Chocmocakes has had a genius idea! . . .A surprising genius idea!
What if you wanted to serve pie at your wedding (and why not, I love pie)? Then all your guests would sit down, take a bite, and surprise. That's not pie at all!!! It's a cake that looks like a pie (and very convincing too)!
I don't know if it's because this idea just makes me giggle, is super cute & clever, or just that I love all things cake, but this is just great! I'm sure all your guests would be amused at something so silly (And cute).

If I was having a Garden Wedding...
My bridesmaids would love me. . . (Not that they don't all ready).
But for real, if I had a Garden Wedding, my girls would be wearing lovely yellow/green linen sundresses from Forever 21 for a whopping $24.80. Awesome, right? Sure beats the pants off of my $150 price tag (which isn't as easy as I thought it'd be).
But, alas, I am not having a garden wedding. We're shelling out $$s to be married in my home town church and for a traditional sit down dinner reception. Oh well, a girl can dream, right? Haha, just kidding, I love our venues :). . .but I also love that sundress. Maybe I'll buy it for myself!

Seeing Red . . . Polka Dots!
So I was looking up cake stands for no other reason besides I love them and will need a super cute one for the wedding. And I found [probably] the most adorable one of all time. I found it at Amazon, and it is so cutesy and sweet with it's lovely red polka dots.
So, naturally, I began to think. If one was to buy this cute little stand, they could have a cute little polka dot wedding. A cute little red polka dot wedding! Two words: Love it!
Inspired by this stand I made [my first ever] an inspiration board for a wedding that could be inspired by the stand as well.
An adorable cupcake display[source], to sit next to the perfect cake [source] on the perfect polka dotted stand .
A photo of a bride who did have a red polka dot wedding! [source]
An adorable bridesmaid dress, perhaps [source]? To go with the gift of a wristlet [source].
Something cute for your hair. [source]
A bag [source] to travel to the honeymoon for which you have the perfect bathing suit [source] and the perfect shoes [source] or the other perfect shoes [source].
A bride isn't a bride without the perfect garter! [source]
A (ribbon) flower for your hair [source].

A Possible Pearcock Party Part One!
Sidebar: You know, as cliche as it is, the feeling of being in love, and knowing that you're just going to be together is one of the best feelings ever. It just feels good inside.
Anyway, as I mentioned before, I was curious about a peacock themed wedding. Lisabrueck assured me there was such a thing so I did a little investigating! As a paper lover myself, I started with invitations (which, also logically, seems like a good place to start).
Believe it or not, I was actually surprised with the amount of peacock/peacock themed invitations I found. I just thought that maybe there was not a large niche for a peacock theme, but perhaps I was wrong! There were actually a whole whole lot, but I just picked out some faves to share.
Enjoy :).
(I will link the original source to the image, so just click the image for the link.)

Another great contest!
I promise I will get back to the peacock wedding investigation for the next post, but here's something else exciting!
If you head on over to Scribble Honey, you can leave a comment to win a very nice (and convincing from the photos) skin care package. As a future bride on the quest for clearer skin, this could definitely be worth it. I'm crossing my fingers!

Peacock, eh?
So this picture (source) got me thinking. . . If people have damask themed weddings, and country themed weddings, and vintage themed weddings. . . do they have peacock themed weddings? I'm not sure, but I'm going to look into it and get back to you (yes, you).
Hopefully I can come up with something good! Peacock colors are good and could be a good inspiration point. We'll see.

"Today" - Joshua Radin
So I had never heard of Joshua Radin until yesterday when I heard the song "Today." And it is amazing, very chill and very sweet. I looked up a bunch of other songs by him as well, and they were all really good. I can't wait to share "Today" with FI, who is making many of the music decisions for the wedding because he is most definitely a music guy (and I definitely am not).
Naturally, I am excited to share this song with anyone, because it could definitely fit into a wedding somewhere. First Dance, perhaps?
Here's the lyrics for you to enjoy:
Shoe laces untiedMy favorite lines are "Unknown our love has grown and I thank God you came along " and "I sat beside you and became myself today"
You can dry your eye
Perfect shadows lie behind us and this is the day I make you mine
The way your hair lies
Sometimes unrecognized
All the way from Nice today on a train
Nothing to say but there's still time
You are the one I've been waiting for today
Here comes the sun
It's been baiting morn today
Lately I've lost my tongue
Today you found my song
Unknown our love has grown and I thank God you came along
You are the one I've been waiting for today
Here comes the sun
It's been baiting morn today
You looked right through me
There was no one else
I sat beside you and became myself today
Today
You are the one I've been waiting for today
Here comes the sun
It's been baiting morn today
Anyway, so you can get the full effect:

Today's the big day. . .No, not that day. . .
It's graduation day! Bachelors Degree, here I come! I had to leave two jobs this week because I'm moving away from my University which has resulted in a lot of tears, but I am very excited about the next part of my life. I can get a "real" job and start saving for the wedding :)!
My stomach is all upset with nerves and I woke up too early because I couldn't sleep, but (even if I am nervous) I am so excited!
More on the wedding later, but as for now. . .

A little Green
You know, I'd like to think I'm a fairly nice person and pretty nice, friendly and outgoing to people. Winning a "best customer service" award for the whole past year would back that up.
I like my friends, I try to help them out as much as possible. . . Normally, I'd say that I go out of my way to help others, but I guess this isn't always the case.
It seems like weddings/w planning brings out the little green monster in me.
I was never as much of a jealous person as I am now. I don't know what it is about this wedding (and I think I can blame a little on the WIC-wedding industry complex), but I feel like I'm in a competition with other brides. It's like I'm in a race and I have to win!
It's not just all brides I'm "competing" with, its the people I used to know - the girls I went to high school with that are now engaged as well. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly, but I'm determined to "win."
I can feel all my judgey feels as soon as I start to think about it - It's horrible!
For instance - there are 2 girls whom I was kind of friends with, but only in passing, but they are both now engaged. My first large annoyance is that they're both a year younger than me and planning a wedding from a yearish by now. Honestly, I'm a little upset by the fact that they've been engaged less than Mr.TB & I have, getting married sooner than we are, and are younger than we are. I mean, really, at age 21 I'm pretty young for this whole wedding business - I feel like I just hit the socially acceptable "cut off" point. But these girls are 20. Lame, right? I know. (Green monster, for reals).
But here's where it's gets bad. . .reallllly 'green'. The one girl (who is marrying a guy twice her age with 3 kids who are closer to her age than she is. . .oh wait, no judging!) is thinking about getting married on the date that Mr.TB and I originally chose. I know that I have to (seriously) get past my emotional attachment to that day. Its not ours anymore, we need to move on. We're gonna have a new day to love - about a year after the original one. Anyway - TB and I still have the church booked for that day (mental note: cancel) and part of me wants to hold onto it for a little bit longer just so this girl can't have it.
Does that make me a horrible person? Probably. But I can't help it - I feel like I have to have the perfect wedding . . . and to have the perfect wedding, that means everyone else has to have an imperfect wedding.
I'll work on it, I promise. It kind of puts me in a foul mood knowing that I could act like this. :(
I think I just need a little perspective? Perhaps, the fact that so many people have found love should be enough to keep my head above water.
Oh boy. . .Well aside from all that suckyness, here's something to make you smile (Source):

I Want Engagment Photos!
So Mr. TB have not had engagement photos, but I would love them! I feel like we don't have enough photos of use as a couple (it seems like they're all from our first 6 months of dating) and E-pics would be a great way to celebrate our future and the wonderful part of our lives we're at right now.
I've always wondered if E Photos had an expiration date? Unlike most couples, we're having a long engagement - 2.5 years to be exact. Now, we're about 6 months into the engagement and I feel silly like we've waited too long. I feel like since we've been engaged for a while, its too late for photos - and that breaks my heart a little. Mr.TB is a fairly traditional guy (albeit, while I'm not) and I'm worried he's a little off put doing E-Photos so late into the engagement. We still have 2 years to go though, so maybe they're all right because we are engaged (and loving it, no less)!
Anyway, as if I needed a reason to want E-photos - isn't how great they look reason enough?
Unfortunately, I do not live anywhere near a place like this (source):And I'm determined to have balloons (source)
As a Chicago Girl, this next one is near and dear to my heart. I would love something like this (source).

May 2009
So it's officially May - this semester went by so fast I could barley keep up with it. More importantly, less than a week until graduation. It's one of the big days I've been waiting for.
