Being a BM: Engagment photos

Bridesmaid Marie is getting married in September 2011, only a few months after my wedding in May. I get to be one of her bridesmaids, too. Now I could go on and on about how nice it is to have a friend who is planning a wedding at the the same time, but I won't. (Chances are I will in the future so watch out).

She's getting married over Labor Day weekend to Groomsman Mike. Now, this is a holiday weekend (not just because of Mr. Giraffe's birthday either) so they're looking to get their STDs out ASAP. Let's all pencil it in folks !. . . Oh, you're not invited? Well this is embarrassing. . . ;-)

Anyway Marie & Mike's photography package only came with a half hour studio E session, and she was looking for some outdoor photos soooooooooo I came to the rescue! Rock star super awesome!

Now, I'm not a professional photographer by any means, but I'm not some Joe Point and Shoot either. I own my own SLR and DSLR and took some photography in college, so its definitely a hobby of mine. Its really something I enjoy as a hobby. Those profess photogs are hard core though, oh man.

Mr. Giraffe and I met our friends at a park about 30-45 minuets away and I got shooting!

I was more than happy to do this for Marie because, well aside from being one of the greatest people ever, and because I totally love her. Isn't that what a bridesmaid is supposed to do ;-D ? Mike & Marie are seriously so cute together and they make me so happy!

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:

Whoops, how'd this one get in here? Mr. Giraffe snapped it as Marie and I headed inside so she soud change.

Okay, so I seriously tried to narrow them down more and couldn't. Oh well, more eye candy for you guys.

Oh, and what kind of bee would I bee, if I didn't take at least one photo of the couple getting married there? Those groomsmen look like a good time for sure!
So what did I do with all these photos, you ask? Well, I put a snappy designed-in-2-seconds label on the DVD of photos and handed them off to Marie & Mike.

Hopefully soon, they'll make some choices and we can get moving on their STDs!

Anybody else currently a bridesmaid? How are you helping out?
